Architecture

Interior architectural design of approximately 30,000 m2, Mexico City.

This project attempts to integrate an image developed in the 90’s with a contemporary one. The intent of the design is to have a quiet image that serves to display Mexican art using the philosophical concepts of colors for healing and health.

Outside stone materials influenced the materials selection for the interior and vise versa. Several outside materials were modified to carry out the integration of the image of both
projects. The building as well as the planning was realized by third parties, which we then adapted to the project’s needs at the time of construction.

Local and imported marbles consisting of Santo Tomás and Spanish cream marble were used throughout the project, along with yellow onyx and green granite. Warm colors and medium cherry woods harmonized with the stone materials giving the main vestibule its identity.

Exterior light was refracted through suspended onyx ceilings under the domes to provide natural colors and enhance the healing process. Additionally, water was used as a transition medium to disconnect the visitor from the sounds in the exterior, and to provide them with a serene and welcoming environment.
