This goal of this project is to create a dynamic light filled space with a fresh, simple, casual image that corresponds to Nike’s corporate image. The particular elements giving identity to this project are:
• the entrance door
• the diagonal wood wall with glass inserts
• the reception desk
• the office facades
• specifically ceiling soffit detail
• the use of natural and indirect light
• the finish
The project is organized based on a diagonally shaped wall that exits from the office interiors to outline the entrance door from the exterior space. This wall separates the visitors’ area from the operation’s area, and along with the inclined ceiling in the visitors’ area plays with the space’s perspective.
Once inside the operational areas, the individual offices frame the open area and maintain a warm and casual character following the design criteria of the office vestibule area.
The project’s lighting represents an important factor because of Nike’s need for continuous inventory management, evaluation of textiles, corporate standards and requisite level of comfort, and formulas for the conservation of energy.
The off set granite layout design is replicated in the layout of the carpet. Specially designed closets were created for the work area, locating them in column spaces found in the office
area.
