Hilda Rodriguez is an award-winning Interior and Architectural Designer with twenty-eight years of wide-ranging experience across complex multidisciplinary design projects in Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States, a leader, effective team manager, and trainer; recognized in journals and articles for contributions to interior architectural design. Hilda Rodriguez is an adjunct professor at Wade College and is a frequent guest critic at the University of Texas at Arlington. She conducts scholarly academic research on space flexibility and fluidity from the point of view of sustainable design and the integration of interior and exterior spaces. She is committed to contributing to our community through the quality of design services and promoting education within the academic arena, and through performance and work contribution in our profession’s practice.
Hilda is a member of several Dallas organizations and serves on the Board of Dallas Habitat, the Advisory Board for the Renovation of the Kalita Humpries Theatre, and The Oaklawn Committee’s executive committee. Hilda is the owner of HILDA RODRIGUEZ Architecture/Planning/Interiors LLC, an Interiors and Architectural Design firm currently offering design services for aviation, commercial, educational, hospitality, and residential projects. Additional services include furniture, fixtures, equipment selection, purchasing and procuring, furniture design, and commission art.
Ms. Rodríguez is of Puerto Rican heritage. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama, and raised in Puerto Rico since the age of 4. She lived in Puerto Rico until she moved to the United States for an Internship in Georgia with John Portman & Associates before starting her Master’s degree in Architecture at Harvard University in 1988. After completing her Master’s degree, Hilda moved to Mexico City. There she developed a professional practice as a leading interior and architectural designer while working as Director of Interiors for KMD Architects. After 13 years of being in Mexico, Hilda undertook a new challenge. She moved back to the United States and “restarted” her career path in Texas, where she has been practicing since 2006. First working for Wilson Associates as Senior Designer, and currently, as the owner of her design firm.
Her design projects vary from detailed residential engagements to sophisticated high-tech and secured spaces, from modest to luxurious budgets and local to international clients.
